Private schools in Nigeria said that they are not part of any nationwide strike, calling on schools to remain open.
A statement by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS, said it is not a member of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) or Trade Union Congress (TUC) and as such not part of the industrial action embarked upon by the above organisations.
The statement directed all private schools to remain open and go about their legitimate duties without fear of molestation.
It said any form of harassment by any persons should be promptly reported to the security agencies.
